Long time Soccer AM regular Tubes (real name Peter Dale) announced on his official Instagram account this evening that he suffered "a very unexpected major heart attack" this past Sunday.
The 35 year old posted a picture of himself in his hospital bed, still hooked up to several machines, in order to let fans know he was doing OK and to thank the surgeons, staff and the Ambulance crew at St. Peter's hospital, Chertsey for saving his life.
In the post he adds that he has "plenty of work to do and surgery to have but I'm slowly on the road ro recovery".
Tubes has been a regular favourite on soccer AM for years now and has outlasted the many cast and crew changes the show has gone through over the years on the air. He initially gamed fame and popularity on the show by appearing to ask a guest "one question and one question only".
In another emotional Instagram post on New Year's Day of this year Tubes opened up publicly for the first time about his struggles with alcohol and admitted that he is "highly addicted to alcohol" and seemed to point to the fact that he was celebrating a year and a half of sobriety by saying that "2017 and half of 2016 have been the best years of my life because I finally admitted I’m highly addicted to alcohol and enough was enough and had to stop."
Many well known names took the Twitter to wish Tubes all the best on his road to recovery.
