Sky Sports MNF Could Be Set For Another Blow As Ed Chamberlain Looks To Be Jumping Ship

Jamie Carragher will likely be the only familiar face on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football next season, unless Gary Neville can be tempted back, as it has emerged that Ed Chamberlain has done the unthinkable and joined a different network.

In a move almost as controversial as when Luis Figo decided to join Real Madrid from Barcelona, MNF host Ed Chamberlain has decided to take up a position

Racing Post is reporting that the Sky Sports host presented his last match for the channel on Tuesday night as he fronted coverage of Manchester United and Bournemouth. It was recently announced that ITV was taking over the highlights of horse racing from Channel 4 who previously had it.

Chamberlain has been with Sky for 16 years as a lead football presenter, but his switch to ITV would see him take up a role on a horse racing show initially.

While it isn't nearly as big a blow as losing Carragher would be, Chamberlain was someone who did not piss off viewers on a regular basis which made him a rarity in the presenting world, and the new guy will be judged from day one in a move that will surely upset many simply because something is new. We're expecting a pig's head to be thrown at the entrance to Sky Sports' main offices.

We await official confirmation from Sky, but it looks as though MNF will be shaken up a bit for next season, but if they can manage to get Gary Neville back in the studio it likely won't matter who steers the conversation.
