As Manchester United's match winner in their crucial Premier League clash with Liverpool this past weekend, Juan Mata has been receiving praise from all angles after an excellent performance at Anfield, but has he been as appreciated enough since his arrival in England?
Sky Sports went digging through the Opta Stats archives and came up with a headline that some fans of the Premier League may find surprising. Since Juan Mata came to the Premier League in 2011/12, no other midfield player has as many combined goals and assists, including the likes of Yaya Toure, Eden Hazard, and David Silva.
Although Mata was voted Chelsea's player of the year in both of his years as a blue, he was frozen out of Stamford Bridge by Jose Mourinho, and up until recently had not been used in a system at Manchester United that best suited his abilities.
United fans will be hoping Mata can continue his match winning heroics for the rest of the season and add a few more digits to each column in the above graphic.
