Some very disturbing scenes here from Port Said in Egypt. A match between Al-Masry and Al-Ahly descended into chaos after fans rushed onto the field. Up to forty people have died in the clashes according to the Associated Press.

Mohamed Abou-Trieka is an Egyptian international who plays for Al-Ahly. Some terrible reports now emerging that Al-Masry Ultras planned the violence today. AbouTrieka is also quoted as saying " This is not football. This is a war and people are dying in front of us "

A military source has told Reuters that helicopters have been dispatched to evacuate Al-Ahly players and staff from the stadium. Egypt's parliament will hold an emergency session tomorrow over the violence.
