One of the most mental games you are likely to see took place in the Championship today, between Sheffield United and Blackpool.

The two sides played out a 3-3 draw at Bramall Lane, which featured four red cards and a 98th minute equaliser for the home side.

Sheffield United started superbly and took a two-nil lead after 24 minutes, thanks to goals from James McAtee and Illiman Ndiaye.

Blackpool then went on a devastating run between the 30th and 50th minutes, scoring three unanswered goals to take a 3-2 lead. Jerry Yates bagged two of the goals, with Kenny Dougall also getting on the scoresheet.

However, the momentum of the match took a violent turn when Marvin Ekpiteta and Dominic Thompson were both sent off for second yellow cards, just three minutes apart, in the 78th and 81st minutes.

Sheffield United were handed a perfect chance to level the match and push for the win when they were awarded a penalty in the 88th minute, but Rhian Brewster couldn't covert.

The red-card stoppages, however, added much time after the 90, which Sheffield United took full advantage of when they grabbed an equaliser in the 98th minute through Oliver Norwood.

But the drama did not finish at the final whistle. Both sides confronted each other on the pitch before Sheffield united keeper Wes Foderingham shoved Blackpool's Shayne Lavery to the ground, which left both men scrapping on the floor.

Unsurprisingly, both players were shown red cards, despite the game being over.

The result leaves Sheffield United second in the Championship table, and level on points with first place Burnley, while Blackpool languish in a lowly 19th.
