Given all of the hoopla a few weeks ago about Northern Ireland players defecting across the border, it was strange, and possibly upsetting to see Shay Given wearing the badge of the IFA on Sky Sports News this morning. Given is apparently getting his coaching badges with the IFA. Couldn't he just put some tape over that logo or take the shirt off entirely? This is either the kind of cross-border initiative that would make Mary McAleese say "Wow...Wow...Wow", or Given is spitting in the face of his own football federation. (Or it just might be a shorter drive from Donegal to Belfast.) John Delaney, get this man a helicopter.
