Shay given appeared on Goals on Sunday alongside Chris 'Kammy' Kamara and Chummy Ben Shepherd this morning, and his appearance finished on the one of the greatest puns in the history of the Premier League: Given is the only Irishman who doesn't know where Dublin is.
It stems from an infamous Given error during his early days with Newcastle, in a 2-2 draw with Coventry. Cognisant of the recently-introduced six-second rule, Given mindlessly dropped the ball at his feet as he surveyed the pitch ahead of him.
He was unaware of the lurking presence of Dion Dublin, however, who nipped ahead of him to score.
Given was chided over the error on Sky this morning, and revealed that his friends in Lifford had taken the piss out of him...by buying him a wing mirror.
