The FA Cup used up most of its magic last night, meaning tonight's third round replay was largely bereft of any sprinklings of celestial dust. Liverpool saw off Plymouth thanks to a Lucas Leiva header, and Premier League Southampton also progressed, at the expense of Norwich City. Theirs was a soporific clash: just 13,000 fans turned up to watch a bore 0-0 draw drift perilously close to extra-time.
But cometh the needless extra half-hour, cometh the man. Shane Long stumbled forward to rescue Southampton and everybody watching on from their eyes bleeding for another thirty minutes.
In keeping with the quality of the game, the winning goal was superbly shite. After the mother of all goalmouth scrambles, Long - being fouled, it appeared - prodded home into the corner.
Watch it here.

Well in, Shane.
Saints will now go on to host Arsenal in the fourth round.
