Shane Long's throwback post is absolutely perfect. At that age, it could only have been dreams that fueled his hopes of one day representing his country at a major international tournament - but his dreams have very much come true.
Donning the iconic jersey Ireland wore at the 1994 World Cup, Long would only have been 6-year-old when the tournament took place - but like every young boy, Long could only have dreamed of one day wearing the shirt.
After representing Ireland at back to back European championships in 2012 and 2016 - Long has yet to take part in a World Cup. But optimism will be high in the Irish camp after a good Euro 2016 tournament, Shane Long and Ireland will be quietly confident that they can qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Great kit choice, though. The best Irish kit of the 1990s?
Probably.
