Republic of Ireland striker Shane Long has written his name into the history books tonight with a goal after just 7.69 seconds for Southampton during their Premier League clash with Watford.
Long chipped past goalkeeper Ben Foster in the early stages after pressing hard immediately from the kick-off. The goal stunned Vicarage road and gave Ralph Hasenhüttl's side a dream start.

The goal passes out a list that includes Ledley King (9.82 seconds), Alan Shearer (10.52 seconds), Christian Eriksen (10.54 seconds).
It has been a landmark month for Shane Long after he also became the fourth ever Irish striker to reach 50 Premier League goals after scoring against Liverpool recently.
