20 minutes into the second half of Southampton's opening game of the season against Newcastle at St. James Park, Shane Long came off the bench to replace Jay Rodriguez.

Just under a quarter of an hour later, the Irish international headed in a equaliser for his side.

Long got on the end of a Dusan Tadic far post cross to nod past Tim Krul in the home side's goal.

The game finished 2-2.
