Perhaps, in an attempt to show similar versatility to Martin O'Neill, Shane Duffy may have had this in mind while playing for Blackburn against Preston yesterday.

24 minutes into the game, Duffy prevented a goal-bound shot from hitting the back of the net when he slid across the line and got a hand to the ball.

Moments later, Duffy was shown a red card and Preston awarded a penalty.

Blackburn were 1-0 up at the time and would go on to lose 2-1.
