West Brom could be set to offer Shane Duffy a lifeline to continue his career in the Premier Leauge.
The Express and Star reports that initial talks have taken place between Duffy's current employers Brighton and the newly promoted West Brom.
It's also said that West Ham are keeping an eye on Duffy.
A spot on Brighton's bench was the 28-year-old's station for much of last season. He started 19 games in the Premier League.
Brighton's centre-back options have also been bolstered with the addition of Joel Veltman from Ajax, Lars Dendoncker from Club Brugge and the return of Ben White from a successful loan spell at Leeds. They will add to other options which include Lewis Dunk, Dan Burn and Adam Webster.
There is a feeling that Duffy maybe be express to requirements at Brighton.
Should Duffy join West Brom, he could be part of a defence featuring another Irishman: Dara O'Shea. The Dubliner was the club's Young Player of the Season as they finished second in the Championship and won automatic promotion to the Premier League.
