Blackburn's Shane Duffy, so heroic in the victory over Italy and, well, slightly less so in the defeat to France a couple of weeks back is the latest Irish international being linked with a move in today's press.
Unlike his Ireland teammates Jeff Hendrick and Robbie Brady, it doesn't appear that Duffy will trade the Championship for Premiership football with both Wolves and Fulham said to be interested in the central defender's services for next season.
Both sides are understood to have tabled bids of £3.25 million (€3.9 million) but Blackburn would prefer to hold out for something closer to £4 million (€4.7 million).
Duffy appeared in all but five of Blackburn's league games last season as they finished 15th in the Championship but a move to a team with ambitions of promotion would greatly benefit the defender, who could end up being a central figure at the heart of the Irish defence for years to come after the (presumed) eventual retirement of John O'Shea.
