Form Guide

Shamrock Rovers beat Bulgarian side Ludogorets last week in the second leg thanks to goals from Aidomo Emakhu and Aaron Greene, but due to their heavy first leg defeat, they were eliminated from the Champions League.

Since then, the Hoops beat Bangor Celtic 4-0 in the FAI Cup. Rovers look set for a third League of Ireland Premier Division title in a row and are sitting seven points clear at the summit of the table.

Rory Gaffney has been in fine goal scoring form of late and has netted eight times already this season and with the return of Graham Burke from injury, goals are likely not going to be a problem for Shamrock Rovers.

With skipper Roberto Lopes still sidelined through injury, new signing Daniel Cleary will likely be called into the starting lineup.

Rovers' opponents, Shkupi, beat Lincoln Red Imps in the First Qualifying Round of the Champions League before being knocked out by Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb in the last round. Shkupi cruised to the North Macedonian title last season, winning the league by 13 points and losing just three times.

The winners of the tie will face the losers of Ferencvaros and Qarabeg in the play off round and a win at Tallaght Stadium will be vital for Stephen Bradley before travelling away for the second leg.
