Shamrock Rovers kick off their Europa Conference League campaign this week as they host Swedish outfit Djurgarden. The reigning League of Ireland Premier Division champions will be looking to get their European campaign off to the perfect start. Here's everything you need to know ahead of the game.

The Hoops started their European journey this summer in the first qualifying round of the Champions League. After cruising past Maltese outfit Hibernians, they were drawn against Ludogorets in the next round.
A disappointing 3-0 defeat in the first leg was too much for Shamrock Rovers to overturn, and despite winning the home leg, they exited the competition. Next up for Stephen Bradley's side was FK Shkupi from North Macedonia who they beat 5-2 on aggregate, guaranteeing European group stage football.

In the playoff round, Rovers met Hungarian side Ferencvaros, but similarly to the games against Ludogorets, a difficult first leg tie away from home, proved too much for the Tallaght Stadium outfit to overturn and they entered the Europa Conference League.
Shamrock Rovers remain on course for a third successive League of Ireland Premier Division title and are sitting four points clear of nearest rivals Derry City, with a game in hand.

After beating Bangor Celtic and Drogheda United in the first two rounds of the FAI Cup, it's a trip to the Ryan McBride Brandywell in the quarterfinals of the Cup where they will need to beat Derry City should they remain on course for the double.
Their opponents, Djurgarden, were the fourth seeded team in the draw. After finishing in third place in the Swedish league last season, ahead of rivals Malmo, they entered the Europa Conference League.

Founded in 1891, they've won 12 Allsvenskan titles and five Swedish cups in their history. Their most recent league title came in 2019, a year after they won their most recent cup.
On their journey to the group stages, they overcame Croation side Rijeka, Romanian club Sepsi and Cypriot outfit APOEL.
