There was a while there when it felt like we were playing Switzerland every other month, but now it's been over a decade without a match against the nation that gave us the Bond-villain-esque Hakan Yakin.

Last time out, on October 12th 2005, a 0-0 draw at home to Switzerland killed Ireland's hopes of qualifying for the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, and the panel in the RTÉ studio were not impressed at all.

Gilesy called it a shambles, and Liam put the blame for unimaginative wingers squarely on the shoulders of Brian Kerr.

It's funny considering here we are, over 10 years later, cursing the fact that Kerr is no longer involved with Irish football.

While many were unhappy at the time, it has since become apparent that Kerr was harshly treated, and nobody is more adamant that he should be involved with the FAI than Damien Duff.
