After all the talk and controversy surrounding the Shakhter Karagandy sheep sacrifice before their Champions League play-off first-leg tie with Celtic last week, the Kazakh side's manager Viktor Kumykov asked people to respect the club's traditions in his pre-match press conference. He also revealed that the club might carry out the ritual before Wednesday night's clash.
From the Guardian:
Asked if the ritual would take place, he replied, "Possibly, yes." Then, when asked where he planned to get the sheep, Kumykov, to laughter, replied: "As far as we know in Scotland the agriculture is very developed so it shouldn't be an issue to find a sheep."
