Shakhtar Donetsk’s Danylo Sikan produced one of the worst misses you are ever likely to see in their 1-1 draw with Celtic.
In a game that was end to end action at Celtic Park, Shaktar will feel like they left two points behind as they are now three points behind in their RB Leipzig in Group F of the Champions League.
The Ukrainian side played some brilliant football through the game, and looked like they were about to take the lead with 18 minutes to go, when the impressive Mykhaylo Mudryk played the ball to Sikan for a simple tap in when he somehow put it wide of the open goal just six yards out.

It’s a miss that Sikan will want to forget in a hurry, but could prove vital come the final group standings, especially after RB Leipzig’s 3-1 win over Real Madrid.
Celtic came into tonight’s game with only a place in the Europa League to play for with just one point in four games ruling them out of qualifying for the last 16.
It was the Scottish champions who took the lead in the first half, with the ball falling kindly to Georgios Giakoumakis to smash the ball home after Liel Abada’s shot was blocked.

Shakhtar came out the stronger of the sides in the second half and scored a brilliant equaliser through Mudryk, who curled his effort into the top corner giving Joe Hart no chance.
The 21-year-old winger has been linked with a move to the Premier League, and goals like that will just add to his value.
Mykhaylo Mudryk the wonder kid 🤩

Both sides had chances, most notably Sikan’s shocking miss, while Matthew O’Reilly’s effort was just wide in another Champions League game when Celtic couldn’t take their chances.
Celtic are now guaranteed to finish bottom of their group in a very disappointing European campaign, while Shakhtar must beat RB Leipzig to advance to the last 16.
