Rangers are through to the Scottish Cup final, having beaten Celtic 5-4 on penalties following a pulsating 2-2 draw at Hampden Park. It was just the second penalty shoot-out between the Glasgow rivals, and the result means that Celtic's awful Scottish Cup semi-final record against their rivals continues: they haven't beaten the Gers in the last four of the competition since 1925.
Tom Rogic shanked the decisive penalty over the crossbar in an attempt that began as Panenka and ended in pain. Rogic had earlier equalised for Celtic having fallen 2-1 in extra-time.
The game was relatively low on quality but the absurd tension more than made up for it. Here is some of the reaction to high drama at Hampden Park:
Get in Rangers!!!! Buzzing

#Rangers thoroughly deserving of that. Their young players were excellent against a #Celtic side that lacked fight.

Ah. Fair play to Rangers. They seemed to have more energy in extra time anyway. This has to be Ronny Deila last season at Celtic now

Oh so people want Ron delia out now ? I was abused for saying it weeks ago ha ha embarrassing result that. #Celtic #Rangers

Yeeeeeeeees! Get in Rangers. Fantastic.
— Ewan MacKenna (@EwanMacKenna) April 17, 2016
That was the worst and most spineless Celtic display I've ever seen. Rangers dominant in every area. We were lucky to get to penalties
— Kevin McKenna (@kmckenna63) April 17, 2016
Since Ronny Delia took over Celtic, they have gone backwards. Underachieved in Europe, cup runs not good enough and limping to league title.

I don't slate Ronny. But you look at the impact his subs makes and that itself shows you he got the team wrong today. #svitachenko #rogic

Rangers can now lift a domestic treble to complement promotion to the SPL. The Old Firm is going to become a regular fixture once again, and if things remain as dramatic as today, that's no bad thing.
