Manchester City suffered a surprise defeat in last night's FA Cup fifth-round tie against League One's Wigan Athletic. Having gone down to 10-men during the closing moments of the first-half, tensions rose on the sideline between Pep Guardiola and Wigan's former Sligo Rovers boss, Paul Cook.
Although Fabian Delph's red-card was the sole dismissal of the tie, the game was not without plenty of niggle; Wigan receiving five yellow cards over the course of the ninety-minutes.
During a tightly-contested second-half, when City's expectantly controlled most of the ball, Wigan's Will Grigg got the all important goal for the hosts and set in action a stunning scene for Wigan's joyous supporters.
Unfortunately, amid all the celebrations, Manchester City's Sergio Aguero found himself caught up in a fracas with what can only be assumed is a Wigan fan; that scene can be scene here.
Although it was impossible at the time to deduce what had led to Aguero responding in such an animated fashion, it has now been revealed that the fan in question had told the City's star to "suck my dick", before spitting in the Argentine's ear.
Aguero and Man City considering legal action, with the Argentinian understood to have reported he was spat and sworn at by fan on field at Wigan. Fan apparently said, "suck my d***," and spat in Aguero's ear

Aguero believes he was told to "suck my d*ck" and spat in his ear by fan, is the understanding, and as this is common assault he may/may not press charges

Alternative footage of the event certainly would appear to suggest that Ageuro was accosted in a manner that would make any response understandable; if not necessarily acceptable.

It had been thought that the FA were set to consider investigating a number of events from last night's tie. According to The Telegraph, the incidents are as follows:
The Football Association are gathering all available video evidence of the pitch invasion that marred Wigan Athletic’s FA Cup triumph over Manchester City before deciding whether to press charges.
The FA will also investigate the incident involving Sergio Aguero when he clashed by a fan on the pitch although there is an initial sense that the City striker was defending himself in the episode.
The organisation will also examine the half-time clash in the tunnel between City manager Pep Guardiola and Wigan manager Paul Cook.
It has since been confirmed however that Aguero would not be under investigation for his actions.
