Throughout the whole FIFA corruption saga one sentiment was repeated over and over again by those in the know; when the sponsors begin to turn on them that is when the real problems will start for Sepp Blatter.
Well, in the wake of this week's developments, it seems the dam has burst.
Coca-Cola calls for Sepp Blatter to step down immediately as Fifa president
— BBC Breaking News (@BBCBreaking) October 2, 2015
The drinks company said in a statement today:
Every day that passes, the image and reputation of FIFA continues to tarnish. FIFA needs comprehensive and urgent reform, and that can only be accomplished through a truly independent approach.
However, reports that they have removed the name 'Sepp' from the wrappers on their Coke bottles have not yet been confirmed.
UPDATE
Bejaysis. They're all at it now.
