Philippe Senderos' Rangers debut was a game he will instantly want to forget. Correspondingly, it is a game Celtic fans will always remember.
In Brendan Rodgers' first Old Firm game as Celtic manager, his side destroyed Rangers 5-1.
It was a nightmare game for Senderos who was sent off for a second yellow card in the 75th minute. Truthfully, Rangers were probably better off without Senderos on the pitch. It would not have been a surprise to see Brendan Rodgers protest with referee Willie Collum about the red card.
The second yellow was described as 'daft' on commentary - that's generous to the Swiss defender. Senderos completely misjudged what should have been a routine clearance after a header from within the Celtic half came in his direction. With the ball about to bounce over his head, the 31-year-old stuck his hand in the air to prevent it going in behind the defence.
Senderos left the pitch without protest showing the eagerness of a man who no longer wanted to be in the game.
Senderos' nightmare had begun long before the red card. He was at fault for two Celtic goals.
Moussa Dembele left him on the deck for the goal which put Celtic up 2-0.
Senderos was generous - to say the least - for Celtic's third. As Dembele played in Scott Sinclair, the midfielder went one way and, inexplicably, Senderos the other.
