A Selçuk Tidim was selected by Noel King for Ireland's recent Under 21 European Championships qualifyer with the Faroes, but just how much do we know about this bizarrely named German based Irishman.
1. Family History
Sel Tidim was born June 28th, 1992 in Hamburg, Germany, to a Turkish father and an Irish mother (from Belfast).
2. St Pauli youths
He represented his hometown club at underage level from the age of 9, scoring over 600 goals at all levels, according to foot.ie.
3. Irish Youth Teams
He has played for Ireland at Under 16, 17 and 19 level, scoring 12 times in 24 appearances overall, the most notable of which was scoring the winner against Italy at an Under 16 tournament in Malta.
4. Hansa Rostock
Tidim joined Hansa Rostock last November and has featured three times for their second team this season.
Recent Republic of Ireland Under 21 call up Selcuk Tidim played 70 mins for Hansa Rostock II on Sunday, in a 3-3 draw with FC Schönberg 95.
