Kevin Doyle was our guest on our shiny new football show, cleverly titled the Balls.ie Football Show, and he didn't take long to bust one of the great myths of recent Irish football: Sean St Ledger's relationship with Taylor Swift.
He also told of one cracking tale regarding new French teammate Sebastian Le Toux. Le Toux is French, and arrived at Colorado from Philadelphia Union a few months ago. We'll let Kevin take up the rest of the story...
We signed him from Philadelphia a few months ago, and on his first morning he came in and said 'Oh, morning horse'. In a French accent, it sounds so weird. I wasn't sure what he was saying, I thought he was saying something in French.
But the next morning he said it again, so I quizzed him on it. It turns out his best friend is from Mayo, and he had spent some time in Ireland. Obviously, in Mayo, morning horse is a standard greeting.
Superb.
Doyle revealed that Le Toux spent last Christmas in Ireland, meaning we're only one Dani Carvajal-esque sighting at an obscure GAA club game on giving this story its fully Irish conclusion.
If you happen to have seen Le Toux in Ireland, or ideally, be the person who taught him the words 'morning' and 'horse' in that order, do get in touch @ballsdotie. There's a podcast appearance on offer for the latter.
While you're here, we should mention that there is much more than just the chat with Kevin on this week's pod:
Manchester United has sprung more leaks than, er, Manchester United's defence, so we discuss what next for Mou. Also, we have news of NASA's stinging criticism of Wayne Rooney (kind of).
Steve McClaren's Weird Stuff From The Internet features an incredible story about Shane Long and his dog, while fantasy returns with an exultant Gavan Casey.
You can subscribe to the podcast on iTunes here. That would be a sound thing to do.
