More than two-and-a-half weeks before the Seattle Sounders game against the Portland Timbers, the match has sold out with nearly 67,000 tickets sold.

It is therefore set to become the second most attended match in MLS history, after LA Galaxy vs MetroStars in 1996, which attracted 69,225 fans. While the high attendance can be attributed to the rivalry between the Sounders and the Timbers, the prospect of seeing Clint Dempsey play his first match may also have attracted fans, who are seemingly desperate to get tickets. Who wouldn't want the opportunity to see the Clint Dempsey face in the flesh?
People are selling tickets for Portland v Seattle for up to $2875 apiece on Stubhub. No, we didn't drop a decimal point.
