Reports emerged on Friday that Sean St. Ledger had been released by MLS side Orlando City.
The Irish international joined Orlando in March and now, after just five months, has been 'waived' by the team.
According to MLSSoccer.com, Orlando today announced that the reason for St. Ledger's release was "a serious breach of club policy".
Further details on what exactly that breach entailed have not emerged.
The centre-back made 15 appearances for Orlando this season and made what goalkeeper Tally Hall called 'the save of the season' in a US Open Cup game against Columbus Crew.
Given that the move leaves the team lacking depth at centre-back, whatever St. Ledger did must have left his position at the club completely untenable.
