Martina Cox appeared on the Late Late Show last night to talk about her husband Sean, who was assaulted outside of Anfield prior to Liverpool's Champions League semi-final match against Roma last April.
During the interview she revealed that in the aftermath of the unprovoked attack her husband had sustained lots of bruising and that his head had swollen.
She also revealed that the life saving brain surgery given to him by doctors would not have been an option had Sean been older.

Cox also spoke about the progress Sean is making, and that the family take every small step as a positive:
He has limited amounts of words. He can't sit up, he can't walk. It's pretty horrendous really still, but he is making progress and it's small steps, and we take every step as a positive because that's what you do when you're in that situation.
We communicate with him. He can say yes and no and do the thumbs up. He smiles, we talk to him, we know he recognises us.
Chairman of Dunboyne GAA club Fergus McNulty was also in the audience and explained to viewers that the cost of treating Sean Cox will be high and that a campaign had been launched to generate funds to support his continued care.
