Seamus Coleman broke an impressive Everton record this afternoon, with the Irishman becoming the club's all-time appearance leader in the Premier League during their draw against Aston Villa.
The Donegal native has recovered from the serious injury that has seen him miss much of this season, coming back into the team under Sean Dyche. Always an important player for the club, he played brilliantly once again in today's 0-0 draw.
Coleman has been at Goodison Park since 2009, going on to be appointed club captain in the years that followed. His appearance in this game was his 355th in the Premier League, surpassing the mark previously set by Tim Howard.

While it may have been a big personal achievement for the player, he had a typical reaction to it during his post-match interview.

Seamus Coleman had typical response to record breaking day
Never one to bang on about personal accolades, Seamus Coleman was always going to take this occasion in his stride.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, he admitted that while he was proud of the achievement, he did not enjoy the distraction it provided in the buildup to the fixture.
"I'm very proud to play for this football club" 💙

I've been here for a long time now, coming up on 15 years. I had a couple of serious injuries, so to get it has been good.
I didn't really enjoy it before the game, when you're trying to focus on the game and stuff. It's something I'm proud of. As long as the team is picking up results, that's the main thing for me.
I'm very proud to be playing for this football club. It's a special football club, we should never forget how big of a football club it is in this country...
We know where we are this season in terms of the deduction. What the manager has tried to instil in us, what we expect as players in what we demand from each other, it's very high.
That's something that has been missing over the last few years. We always hold each other accountable and we can say to each other how it is, which I think is important.
The points deduction is the points deduction, we have won the games this season to show we are a mid table team. We've just got to keep fighting and showing that week in, week out.
A classic Seamus Coleman response.
The Ireland captain will no doubt play a big part for Everton over the remainder of the season as long as he can stay fit, with the club very much still in the relegation mix due to their ten-point deduction.
Having a player of his experience will certainly help them push on and get out of that predicament.
