Scott Hogan says he is delighted to have signed a season-long loan deal with Stoke City.
The Ireland international joined the Championship side from Aston Villa on Wednesday evening.
Hogan moved from Brentford to Villa in January 2017 but failed to make an impact at the club. He spent the latter half of last season on loan at Sheffield United.
"It is a real weight off my shoulders to have left Aston Villa and to have joined a really good club, a big club, in Stoke City - it is a really exciting move for me," Hogan told the Stoke City club website.
"It has been a really tough couple of years for me, because I was doing really well at Brentford, scoring goals and then got the move to Villa which for whatever reason just never worked out.
"Sometimes in football things don’t work out, I tried as hard as I could, but I am still confident in my own ability and fully believe I can reproduce my best form here.
"I just want to get back to playing regularly, because only by playing regularly can you score goals, and I haven’t had that for a couple of years.
"I have real belief in my ability, I am confident and know that regular games would help me provide regular goals, which is what I have been brought in here to do."
