The Schweinsteiger comeback?
A word of caution is needed, in that it was a home game against Wigan Athletic. Let's not get too carried away. But still, there was a general sense of pleasant surprise at how assured Bastian Schweinsteiger was in Manchester United's midfield today. It was a brilliant day for the World Cup winner and a reward for the professional manner in which he has conducted himself all season despite being frozen out by Jose Mourinho.
First, he set up a header for a man he often shares a bench with, Marouane Fellaini.

Then, it was his calm delivery of the ball out to Wayne Rooney that helped set up Henrikh Mkhitaryan for a nice goal on the counter-attack.

Finally, he bagged his second goal for Manchester United with a nice little piece of manoeuvring after a flick-on from a Rooney corner.
Unsurprisingly, there was a warm welcome from the United fans and football followers towards his performance.
Man of the Match: Bastian Schweinsteiger. Welcome back.

Schweinsteiger has something to offer MUFC. He really does. Yes, a bit slow, but game management, pass, touch etc is strong.

In an otherwise dreadful first half by Utd that was a moment of quality from Schweinsteiger and good header by Fellaini.
