Schalke tied up the contract of their 19 year old attacking midfielder Julian Draxler today. Draxler is highly rated, having made his Schalke debut at 17 and already has 4 caps for Germany. Dortmund were rumoured to be lining him up as a replacement for Mario Gotze this summer but he has just signed on for another two years with their rivals.

To celebrate, Schalke hired seven billboard trucks to drive around the Westfalenstadion with Draxler's picture and 'With pride and passion until 2018 - contract extended' written on them.
