Celebrating a goal on the training pitch is embarrassing enough but it's nowhere near as mortifying as celebrating said goal with such enthusiasm that you hurt yourself in the process, as QPR's midfielder Sandro found out.
The Brazillian was hit with instant karma when he injured his knee while passionately celebrating a goal he netted during a club training session, according to Harry Redknapp. The QPR boss made the astonishing revelation in an interview with talkSPORT.
Sandro injured his knee after scoring a goal in training and sliding on the dry ground celebrating.
Sandro was one of the marquee signings for QPR this season, making the switch from Tottenham for a hefty £10 million. Although it is unknown how long he will be sidelined for, Redknapp will undoubtedly be disappointed in losing one of his big names in such a ridiculous manner.
The holding midfielder's persistent knee problems have plagued his career. He was almost forced to retire in 2012 with the niggling injury. However, there is no way it could be as bruised as his ego after his manager went public with this new humiliating information.
