After just a season back in the Championship, Burnley will return to the Premier League. They are the 19th team to win promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt.
Going into the weekend, Middlesbrough, Brighton and Burnley were all deadlocked on 87 points.
Boro and Brighton both drew this weekend, the former against Birmingham on Friday night and the latter against Derby earlier today.
It left Burnley with a golden chance to grab automatic promotion before the final games of the season next weekend.
Sam Vokes was the hero for Sean Dyche's side. The Welsh striker headed home David Jones' free kick just after the hour mark.
It was enough to give Burnley a 1-0 win against QPR.
