"If they drop any deeper they will be in Stanley Park," joked Jamie Carragher on Sky Sports at half-time in the Merseyside derby on Sunday afternoon.
Carragher felt Everton had adopted an overly defensive style for the open 45 minutes of the game - Sam Allardyce had parked all of the buses.
Following the game, Allardyce was asked about Carragher's quip on Danish TV. Having just taken a point from the match, the Everton manager felt he was in a position to offer Carragher some advice.
You get forced back - Jamie if you are listening to this - you get forced back by two things. One: the quality of the opposition. Two: the failure of your players to play out correctly when they've got possession.
So, when I see Jamie the next time, I'll give him a lesson in coaching so he can understand it the next time he's commentating.
