Sam Allardyce must be feeling pretty good about himself today after his side downed Champions Manchester City 2-1 at Upton Park. After initially struggling to win over the West Ham faithful with his stubborn insistence on organised set pieces and diagonal passes, Allardyce is now the toast of the East End with a new vibrant West Ham winning plaudits for their attacking football and the likes of Enner Valencia and Diafra Sakho offering the kind of rapid fire entertainment that seems to be the polar opposite of Big Sam-ball.

In an interview this morning with the Telegraph's Henry Winter, Allardyce explained his view of the current landscape in Premier League coaching and how resistance to change was holding back the likes of little known Brendan Rodgers, Manuel Pellegrini and Arsene Wenger:

Well, so far, Allardyce has beaten Rodgers and Pellegrini, so perhaps it's time we all admit that Big Sam is pretty good at this management business.
