Sitting second in England's National League North, the class of 92's involvement with Salford City is on a continuously upward curve.
A beacon of professionalism in England's 6th footballing tier, the Manchester club traveled to Yorkshire today to face Bradford Park Avenue.
With the hosts languishing in the lower middle half of the table, an away win would have been hoped for today, and so it went. 2-1 up heading into the final few moments, the hosts' Twitter feed delivered a worrying message for the leading visitors.
86' - RED CARD! This is bizarre. Salford goalkeeper Max Crocombe has been dismissed and no one knows why... #greenarmy (1-2)

Amid plenty of confusions, Salford City's goalkeeper Max Crocombe was sent off apropos of nothing in particular.
Or so it seemed.
87' - We can confirm that Crocombe has been sent off for urinating during the game. We are not joking. #greenarmy (1-2)

Quick to suggest that this was not a joke, it quickly transpired that with his team leading 2-1 and putting themselves in touching distance of top sport, Crocombe succumbed to the call of nature.
Despite the fact there was at most maybe 6 minutes left, Crocombe's timing was questionable as he seemingly could not wait to relieve himself.
Although Salford did hold on for an important win, Crocombe's foible has become quite the talking-point. One person particularly aware of these dangers is Gary Lineker.
Having famously soiled himself during a 1990 World Cup clash with Ireland, Lineker was quick to the draw here.
If that’s true, I’d have been given a life-time ban for a shit. https://t.co/hcvsqXsQQ7

Crocombe had reportedly asked a steward if he could have a piss beside the goal, but, sensibly enough, this request was rejected.
Eventually deciding enough was enough, Crocombe went and did it anyway, and, after a complaint from a member of the crowd, was sent off for this misdemeanour.
Salford City’s keeper Max Crocombe who was sent off emerged out the tunnel saying “All I did was have a piss”

From what we can gather so far, none of Salford City's more voluble owners have had their say on this incident.
However, the goalkeeper himself has been forthright in his subsequent apologies.
