Early this season, it was looking certain that Galway's Ryan Manning would be released from QPR. He wasn't seeing much game time .
Fast forward to January. He's started the last four league games for the club and, on Friday, he was given a new two-and-a-half year contract.
A fiery London derby ended one a piece between QPR and Fulham at Loftus Road today. Chris Martin's deft flick cancelled out Manning's opener.
The 20-year old was hugely impressive for Ian Holloway's side and got praise all around following his goal. Including from Sky Sports, who gave him the Man of the Match award.
In the interview after the game, Manning spoke about his amazing run since New Year's Eve.
It's been a hectic couple of weeks since New Years. I can't believe it's happening but I'm just delighted to play on the pitch and to get my first goal, I'm over the moon.
I didn't think any of this was going to happen and literally the last three weeks I've been playing, got my assist, got my goal today so I'm just over the moon

Although we do have one small bone to pick with them..
Hands off lads, he's Irish. Someone should maybe have a word with Martin O'Neill ahead of the next set of qualifiers.
