It's been quite the couple of weeks for Ryan Manning.
He grabbed his first assist of the season against Reading and then signed a new contract to stay at Loftus Road yesterday.
Considering that he was almost released by the club before Ian Holloway took charge, that's a pretty good turnaround for the former Galway United star.
He made just his fourth start for the R's in today's west London derby against Fulham in the aforementioned Loftus Road. It didn't take him long to make an impact.
Fulham had earlier missed a penalty when Kevin McDonald attempted a backpass to his goalkeeper. Only for Manning to intercept the underhit pass and stroke the ball into the net.
Ryan Manning Goal vs Fulham
The alternate angles show just how much of a crap back pass it is from McDonald. Manning still has an awful lot to do while sprinting onto the ball though. He keeps his head down and stays composed.
Okay, the finish wasn't the most memorable. But it's a nice moment for the 20 year old. The first of many (hopefully) in his quest for World Cup domination with Ireland in 2026.
