Ryan Giggs looks set to end his 29-year relationship with the red side of Manchester after reports in the press today linked the former winger with the vacant managerial slot at Championship side Nottingham Forest.
The Welshman has apparently been deemed surplus to requirements under the new Jose Mourinho regime at Old Trafford, with the Portuguese opting to once again have his trusted lieutenant Rui Faria at his right hand.

Giggs has been told by Manchester United officials to 'name his job' at Old Trafford, with any coaching role available to him with the exception of the #2 role he covets.
He worked under Louis van Gaal in that role and it is understood that Giggs sees any other position at Old Trafford as a demotion.
Nottingham Forest have been without a full-time manager since relieving Dougie Freedman of his duties back in March, as the once kings of Europe stuttered to a 16th place position in the second flight of English football last season.
Giggs has been linked with the likes of Bolton and Swansea in the past but has to date resisted overtures to leave the club he first joined as a 14-year-old. For the first time though, it appears that Giggs sees his future away from Old Trafford, though the club remain hopeful that Mourinho can find a way to integrate him into his backroom staff.
Speculation remains that the potential new Forest owner Evangalos Marinakis, who also owns Olympiacos, might favour the appointment of an experienced foreign coach to the City Ground but Giggs remains a prime candidate.
Giggs' managerial experience so far consists of four games in charge of Manchester United upon David Moyes' sacking, where he registered 2 wins, a draw and a loss.
