Ruben Amorim enjoyed a largely inconclusive start to his career in Manchester United, as his new team played out a 1-1 draw with 18th-place Ipswich.
While Amorim's side came racing out of the traps with a Marcus Rashford goal that was very evidently straight from the training ground, the Portuguese man's dream start to life in the Premier League was short lived.
Ipswich wasted no time putting Manchester United on the back foot, quickly adapting to Amorim's new style of play and taking control of much of the first half. That hard work paid off when Omari Hutchinson buried one in the back of Onana's net, and drew the affair level right before the break.

While neither side could do enough to claim the three points in the second half, barring a few glimpses of promise from Manchester United, it was Ipswich who enjoyed the more promising half of football.
It was a rude welcome to the top flight of English football for Ruben Amorim, who could've only left Portman Road knowing how tall a task lies in front of him.

Ed Sheeran slammed for 'rude' interruption of Ruben Amorim
That said, Amorim didn't shy away from the problems that lay ahead for him and his now 12th-place Man Utd side, delivering a refreshingly honest interview in the presence of Roy Keane and his Sky Sports colleagues.
However, Amorim's deep analysis of what had went wrong had only begun when Ipswich Town investor and supporter Ed Sheeran tried to join the Sky Sports crew for a mid-interview chat.
Sheeran's interjection not only led to an awkward few seconds of television where the singer joked that the Man Utd head coach didn't walk to talk to him, but also left plenty of Manchester United fans outraged by the interruption of their new head coach.

Taking to social media after the game, the Manchester United faithful were left disappointed by both Sheeran and Sky Sports, with a lot of people claiming Sheeran should've at least allowed the new man in town finish his interview before butting in.
Rúben Amorim should walk on stage in the middle of the next Ed Sheeran concert, start giving his band mates high fives and ask them how they’re doing.

Amorim should have walked off screen when sky sports had Ed Sheeran there. Ridiculous stuff in a professional environment

In fairness to Sheeran, he did take to social media on Monday morning to apologise for his interruption, claiming he was just saying 'hi and bye' to Jamie Redknapp.
Apologies if I offended Amorim yesterday, didn't actually realise he was being interviewed at the time, was popping to say hi and bye to Jamie.
Obvz feel a bit of a bellend but life goes on. Great game though, congrats on all involved.
