RTÉ's USA 94 Ireland Montages Are Inexplicably Brilliant

We may not have qualified for this year's World Cup but over the last few days we've been drowning our sorrows in a bin of nostalgia. Triumphs of yesteryear. In particular, we've been enjoying the national broadcaster's three USA 94 montages.

They're all great but the second in particular is beyond explanation. Basically it features close-ups of Steve Staunton's forehead and other players, set to the inspirational music of Mariah Carey's 'A Hero Lies In You.'

You'll have to watch to get the full picture but imagine X Factor meets football meets The Angelus.
