RTE's World cup coverage has officially kicked off, so buckle in for a month in the company of the state broadcaster. Damien Duff, Liam Brady and Eamon Dunphy joined Darragh Maloney in studio, perhaps hinting at who RTE see as the A-list panel for the tournament ahead.
Most engaging from the opening few moments of the RTE coverage, however, was the montage. RTE's montage game has generally been exceptional over the last few years, but this recap of tournaments gone by might well be their greatest ever.
Beginning with the aphorism 'memories are the architecture of our identity', it brings plenty of memories of past tournaments rushing back.
Goosebumps.
