24 years ago today, Ireland famously defeated Romania in a dramatic penalty shootout to book their place in the Quarter Finals in Italy.
To commemorate its anniversary, here's RTE's coverage of the historic match.
The pre-game analysis features a re-cap of all the Irish group stage goals, an interview with legendary striker Frank Stapleton and some expert analysis of Romania's tactics by a young Eamon Dunphy with a hairstyle reminiscent of Goldilocks. T'was the style of the time.

The panel seemed a little bit nervous in their half time analysis. Ireland, of course ended up winning 5-4 on penalties after Packie Bonner magnificently saved Daniel Timofte's spot kick to earn a quarter final clash against the host nation in the 1990 World Cup.
