Regarding Ireland's prospects at Euro 2016, it's probably a good sign that Roy Keane is in good form. At a press conference today, he joked about Saipan and said the only complaint that he could make about Ireland's Versailles base is that his bed might be a little too soft.
The Ireland assistant manager also had a little bit of fun with TV3 reporter Paul Walsh.
Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane recently agreed a new deal with the FAI which will keep them at the helm of the Irish team until after the 2018 World Cup.
Walsh wanted to know if there was a clause in Keane's new deal which would allow him depart should a club of his liking come calling. Initially, Keane feigned some hostility towards the question before easing to a mischievous smile.
Here's the exchange. You can also watch it below courtesy of TV3.
Paul Walsh: Just in terms of your future with the FAI; I know you've said that you'd like to return to club management at sometime in the future, if a club came calling within the next two years is there an agreement where you can head off?
Roy Keane: I think what's written in my contract is none of your business. What's your deal? Who do you work with?
Paul Walsh: TV3.
Roy Keane: TV3. What's your deal with them? What do they pay you? Do they pay you good money? It's none of my business, is it?
Paul Walsh: I can tell you if you want.
Roy Keane: Go ahead then.
Paul Walsh: [Silence]
Roy Keane: There you go.
Paul Walsh: If a club did come calling, you would be interested...
Roy Keane: Well we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Well, that has happened.
Paul Walsh: Recently?
Roy Keane: Yeah.
Paul Walsh: And what happened?
Roy Keane: I said no.
Paul Walsh: A Premier League club?
Roy Keane: It's none of your business.
