Ted Lasso has proven to be a smash hit on Apple TV over the last few years, with final season of the show coming to our screens later this month.
The characters on display certainly make it, with none more enjoyable to watch than Roy Kent. The no-nonsense midfielder turned Richmond coach is absolutely hilarious.
Of course, it's difficult not to draw comparisons between him and Roy Keane. It has been said that he was based on the Irishman, with even their names being eerily similar.
While the similarities between the pair are easy to see, Keane himself doesn't see it that way.
Roy Keane not happy with Ted Lasso comparisons
Roy Keane was appearing on Sky Sports this afternoon ahead of Liverpool's meeting with Manchester United, with the broadcaster playing a promo for Ted Lasso in which Roy Kent featured prominently.
When the feed cut back to Anfield, presenter Kelly Cates couldn't help but point out that the character had certain traits often associated with the Cork man. It's fair to say Keane didn't take it well.

Cates: I'm just wondering if anyone else sees it, the resemblance? Roy?
Keane: Me? You're joking. I'm a lot nicer than him, you know that, tell the truth.
Cates: He got an Emmy for that performance, which is ridiculous because he was only doing his job.
Souness: I've not watched it, but I will now!
Cates: That was an appearance not from Roy Keane, but Roy Kent. Brett Goldstein is the actor there.
Roy Keane might not see it himself, but there is no doubt that Roy Kent is based off a caricature of no-nonsense personality.
Who knows, he might even give the a show a go himself to delve further into the comparisons.
