Harry Kane netted a hat-trick for England last night, but it's certainly fair to say that he had been performing well below his usual standard this season prior to that game.

The striker has looked well short of fitness, desire, and general interest when on club duty this season, with his struggles for Spurs well documented.

Speaking earlier this week, Keane admitted that he had found it difficult to get back into the swing of things after an eventful summer. Not only did he have the disappointment of England's Euro 2020 final loss, but the 28-year old would also fail to push through a high profile move to Manchester City. He believes those two factors explain his struggles in recent months.

However, Roy Keane is not buying his excuses.

Speaking on ITV ahead of the game last night, he said that Kane should be used to disappointments at this stage considering he has spent his entire career at Spurs.

He's got to live up. He's got to liven up, look at himself, and say 'get over these disappointments'.

Look, he plays for Spurs. He should be used to disappointments, it's not as if they win stuff.

If there is one thing we know about Roy Keane, it's that he doesn't exactly hold Tottenham Hotspur in the highest regard. He has been open in speaking about his low opinion of them during his time as a player, something that hasn't exactly changed in his punditry career.

Be it the general lack of quality in their squad or their effort on the pitch, he isn't the biggest fan of the current iteration Spurs either.

As for Kane, he will be hoping that his goals against Albania will prove to be a turning point in his season.
