The Mystery of our Faith

Roy has died, Roy is risen, Roy will come again.

Roy Keane may be out of work by the end of the week but if all the gossip and speculation is to be believed there is a good chance that he will rise again very soon if Celtic turn their attentions his-a-way.

Keane has expertly managed a PR campaign that seeks to divert attention from his poor management skills and instead lets the press focus on his larger than life press conferences.

Keano calls it as he see it, always has, always will. Pity for him, that he seems to be wrong most of the time. As a player he prospered unquestionably under a world class manager, yet seemed to learn little of the precise managerial attributes that would've helped him from avoiding what looks like an imminent departure from Portman road.

Up until this weekend he has avoided the questions about the sack by cleverly employing the 4 yard stare - seen here

Responding to speculation at the weekend that he was for the chop, mayfield's best had this to say "If I lose my job, I lose my job. There's always speculation about lots of managers in the Premier League and Championship so it's nothing new. If you think I'm fearful of that, don't kid yourself. I've got a good wife and five good kids so I'll be OK whatever happens."

You didn't have to be a genius to predict that Roy wasn't in for a long stay at Ipswich but the fact that he may get what would seem to many as a promotion to the job at Parkhead will befuddle many and may say more about the current state of the SPL than of Keane.

Maybe in Glasgow he will get the respect he believes he deserves rather than being left waiting in the bar by an Ipswich Town somebody.

Keano, great player, failed manager.
