When you come at Roy Keane beware the wrath of his mother. She is in the Irish Sun today giving out stink about Alex Ferguson's chapter on Roy in his new autobiography.

'God Almighty, I can't believe Sir Alex would say such things about Roy. I just can't believe it. I would never have thought he would do something like this,' she said in response to Ferguson scathing words about Keane's Manchester United departure and managerial career.

'He's our son and he has a wife and children and it's not nice for any of us to be hearing someone run a loved one down like that ... It's all very nasty what he said. It's nasty really. It's terrible and I'm very upset.'

Keane may have shown thick skin on ITV last night but his mother Marie seems to feel very betrayed, considering their close relationship with Ferguson down through the years. 'Myself and Mossie have met him numerous times. He was always very nice and courteous to us ... When I was sick he sent me flowers and when Mossie was in hospital he sent him a basket of fruit.'

Maybe Ferguson's next public appearance will be him and Marie going one-on-one in the octagon.
