Steven Gerrard may consider him the best midfielder to ever grace the Premier League but it seems the man who got the most out of Roy Keane doesn't feel the same way.
As part of a promotional tour for his new management book 'Leading', Alex Ferguson has been speaking to the BBC and he has revealed the four players he managed that he considers to have been truly 'world class'.
Although he referenced the likes of Keane, the former Man United manager has stated that the only players he considers to have been of the highest quality during his tenure are Eric Cantona, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Rooney, Beckham, Keane, Tevez, Ferdinand and Schmeichel were great players according to Ferguson 'but these players elevated themselves above all that'. Now we wouldn't go as far as saying that that is a deliberate dig at Keane but to include him in the Tevez/Beckham bracket as opposed to that of Scholes and Giggs does seem somewhat harsh.
There has been a warming of relations between the two notoriously fiery characters in recent years but, if Keane had been more amenable to Fergie's plans, would he be included in the 'world class' list? We'll leave that up to you.
